How To Acquire Available Material Goods

It is a major goal of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and SODI to reuse property from the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (Piketon Facility) to support the economy of the region.

DOE surplus goods are available during a 21 day period to local businesses and non-profits that create/retain jobs in the four-county region surrounding the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.  This process is managed by SODI.

Items are available first for Private Sale then Non-Profit Sale and finally for Public Sale.  The procedure set forth is designed to create a consistent and organized method for the transfer of property.  Scrap and salvage materials are not included in this process simply because such materials are, by their very nature, not appropriate for reuse.

All listed property will be available for inspection by any interested individual or entity by appointment only.  SODI shall not be responsible for the transportation of any personal property to any person or entity receiving the property.
